Blackcabbit's World

Bit by bit, the Blackcabbit crafts its nest of DIY handmade art and illustrates a kingdom of doodle critters to beautify the world she lives in.

Labor Thanksgiving Day

What do you get when you combine Labor Day + Harvest Day + Thanksgiving Day? You get Kinro kansha no hi (勤労感謝の日 / Labor Thanksgiving Day), which is celebrated on November 23rd annually.

The Japanese national holiday was originally a harvest festival known as Niinamesai (新嘗祭). Nowadays, it was established as Labor Thanksgiving Day – a day to show gratitude to any working person, thanking them for their diligence and laborious efforts.

Kinro Kansha no hiI did an Etegami (Picture Postcard) for the “Labor Thanksgiving Day.”

いつも一生懸命お仕事するあなたに感謝します。
My gratitude to you, you who is always doing your best at your job.
お疲れさま。
Well done (and thank you for your hard work).
