(う/ぼう) – Year of Rabbit
[Pronounced as “U” or “Bo”]

Main Text:
昨年はいろいろとお世話になりました。
Thank you for everything that you have done for us last year.
一人増えた家族に手を焼きながらも
家族揃ってうれしい正月を迎えました。
Even though we have our hands full with the baby,
we joyfully welcome New Year together as a family.
本年もよろしくお願いいたします。
We hope for your continued favor this year.

Heisei Nijusan Nen(平成23年) – Current Japan Era
/ Japanese way of saying Year 2011

Gantan(元旦)means the morning of first January.
