Remember the rope my son received on his Sports Day? We were told to make it into a Nawatobi (縄跳び/ Jump rope) and bring it to school. Not sure how to make one, I desperately googled but did not find any tutorial to help me out. Anyway, this is what I have done…

Daddy helped to measure the length needed, which is roughly about should shoulder height.

Jumping Rope

After measuring the length required, we tied knots where the handles should be.
The school is so generous, I think there is enough length for two more jump ropes.

Sewing the Cloth Handles Step by Step

I used quilt battings and fabric scraps to make the cloth handles.
