Bit by bit, the Blackcabbit crafts its nest of DIY handmade art and illustrates a kingdom of doodle critters to beautify the world she lives in.

Simple DIY Toilet Roll Doll with Changing Faces

Christmas is over but I have a little gift for all the teachers. I did this with my ESL class last week. I was teaching them feelings (emotions), as well as the opposites (happy vs sad). Towards the end of the session, we did a little craft activity with this template I made. (You can download the PDF by clicking on this picture):Emo Doll Template

The children coloured their characters; glued the “BODY” to the toilet roll; drew a funny expression; rolled and inserted the “FACES” into the toilet roll…
DONE! It’s that simple.Changing faceHere is all their funny expressions :P

As they turn the inner paper to change the faces, they will learn the words as well. For more variety, I encouraged them to create new faces at home (with their parents’ help).Happy Sad DIY toy
